During the month of May, two security x-ray machines and one walk-through metal detector were installed and commissioned at the Vance W. Amory International Airport. The installation was completed by a technician from Sectus Technologies in Canada; the supplier of the equipment.
NASPA's maintenance team worked along with the technician, Mr. Richard Rollins on the installation, and all airport security officers participated in a training session on the use and operation of the machines. The officers also received vital written material pertaining to the equipment.
Subsequently, a trained technician from SCASPA, Mr. Dareq Maynard was called in to do some basic checks, and was very satisfied with the working condition of all the recently installed equipment. Representatives from the Civil Aviation Division (CAD) have also observed the machines.
