Ten NASPA Security Officers promoted to Port Constables


On Tuesday 31st January 2023, 10 security officers at the Nevis Air and Sea Ports Authority were promoted to Constables. The short ceremony was chaired by the Acting Chief of Security Mr. Velie Maynard who gave some brief remarks congratulating the officers and reminding them that this promotion is only the first step towards many promotions in the future. Mr. Oral Brandy, General Manager at the Nevis Air and Sea Ports Authority, congratulated the officers and encouraged them to keep pressing forward and upward. He advised them to be the best constable they can be and to strive for future promotions. The chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Joseph Liburd implored the officers to learn as much as possible about the line of work they have entered. In his remarks, he also encouraged them to work hard and diligently. Inspector of Police, Inspector Alonzo Carty was also in attendance and gave some brief remarks on the ethics and morals security personnel should have. Each of the officers took the oath of office for the Port Constable which was administered by the Justice of Peace, Inspector Alonzo Carty. The newly promoted Constables at NASPA are Renita Braithwaite, Derrie Browne, Samantha Farrell, Aniah Fyfield, Kanika Glasgow, Xholan Govia, Stevie Mills, Morisca Mills, Jhr’vel Swanston, and Elverene Williams.
